Thank You Canada for Hosting Me on My Autoimmune and Lyme Disease Book Tour

Bright sunlight glinting off of the jet’s wings as we land in Toronto, a teeming city I fell in love with instantly! Its active downtown, charming neighborhoods, and terrific organic eateries captured my attention immediately!

As a Lyme disease author, radio host, advocate, and survivor I have been speaking around the globe and country for four years on behalf of promoting awareness of this exploding epidemic and offering healing support for those suffering.

My mission here has been to end the medical neglect encompassing an outdated and inaccurate diagnostic test, lack of physician education, and a lopsided approach to healing. As a recoveree, who underwent five years of misdiagnosis, (three of them bedridden), and then five more years of recovery treatments, I know what the isolation, confusion, and suffering feels like. As a homeopath of 30 years, I instinctively knew the restorative work of natural medicines would be a pivotal player in my restoration. Rebuilding the damages and depletions from the invasion of this bacterial infection is essential, when years of damage have occurred.

My experience spurred me to write award-winning “Out of the Woods, Healing from Lyme Disease Body, Mind, and Spirit,” now in a second edition with Skyhorse publishing, and available in audio format at Amazon.com.

My heart drew me to reach out to Lyme disease support groups back in 2012, and on a shoestring budget we have had me hopscotch across the country bringing information and inspiration to thousands of afflicted folks. My journey has been profound! So many miraculous connections have been born and beautiful workshops and presentations to share in. My hosts are remarkable, genius, devoted individuals!!

Cecile Gough was my brilliant coordinator for this Canada leg of my book tour, the last leg of 2015! We met at gorgeous Omega institute, when she blew through the doors on a warm summer’s night, after a seven hour car ride, just as I was beginning the invocation for the weekend. An instant friendship was formed, and her strong will and deft coordination ignited the Canada trip.

Thank You’s to The Big Carrot Natural Health Store, Indigo Bookstore, Yorkville, Toronto, Guelph Public Library, St. Brigid’s Sanctuary for hosting me in four sterling locations. Our venues were terrific. And, extra thanks to lovely Jeanne-Lise Pacey for hosting me in your home, keeping me safe and cozy.

The Lyme and Autoimmune Healing workshop I lead at St. Brigid’s Sanctuary was idyllic; 30 of us gathered, learned and shared. I was blessed to bring in my intuitive healing skills, helping participants ignite their mind-body inner healing pathway. I always feel great compassion for and touch your beauty as we enter that sacred inner space together.

Saint Brigid’s was the 141st (one hundred forty one!) public presentation I have given on behalf of Lyme disease in just four years time!! This excludes the 100 broadcasts of “Lyme Light Radio” I have aired. What an enormous feat for a formerly destroyed Lyme victim of ten years!

My work, travel, books, and living image are proof that you can recover from advanced neurological Lyme disease, and live fully and wholly, with passion and strength. I am out there for all of you- complete strangers to me 99% of the time, as I am fueled to end the suffering, the confusion, denial, and backwards thinking.

Integrative medicine is a must for chronic Lyme and autoimmune diseases. The body and mind need support, restorative foods, supplements, and therapies. Pharmaceuticals are only a slice of the pie.

This deep understanding prompted me to write my new book “Autoimmune Illness and Lyme Disease Recovery Guide, Mending Body, Mind and Spirit,” already trending well in online sales, and flowing from hands into readers like water on location. This is being affectionately called a “healing bible” by early readers, which fills my heart. Thirty-plus years of my knowledge are in these pages, offering insight and support to the over 250 million people worldwide afflicted with these diseases and dependent on medications.

There are root causes to one out of seven Americans stricken with autoimmune illness and Lyme. You can personally address these causes. The book spells it out, as do my workshops. Tools are available when you know what to look for.

As the sun dipped to the horizon, golden light splayed across my shoulders and onto the lovely faces encircled together in the simple sanctuary. As I lit each person’s candle and we each set an intention, I watched the eastern sky fade to periwinkle and tears float on eyelashes. Threaded together in harmonious convergence, beauty and grace washed us. Canada lit itself from within, as 30 precious souls stepped forward to change lives and futures in the Lyme disease battle, and to herald a dawning of a new age in healing.

I felt the power of our union in that quaint sanctuary among brave warriors. My mission continues, but I thank Canada and my new friends there for bringing me to a new threshold of collaboration and a sense of change happening at an international level.

May all of us thrive, and thank you for helping me continue my work as a healer, author, speaker and advocate.

May our lives be filled with light and love and health.

Namaste
